Biography of Rhonda Manley
I started hooking in 1986 with Emma Lou Lais - believe me, I was immediately HOOKED! She has been my teacher, mentor and friend ever since. I feel honored to have been able to learn about hooking from the "Master" of rug hooking. I can only hope that her sense of color and design shows through in my work -- some of which can be seen in her book, "American Primitive Hooked Rugs," by Barbara Carroll and Emma Lou Lais.
My work is also inspired by childhood nursery rhymes and old books from when I was growing up. Sometimes a piece of vintage wool, or a particular dye job, will inspire me to create new and wonderful creations.
I am sincerely glad you are here, and I hope you enjoy your visit. Thanks again for stopping by!
