This block, from the Reconciliation Quilt, shows two sailors, one a holding a gun and one holding an anchor, with leaves above their heads. The original Reconciliation Quilt, by Lucinda Ward Honstain, dated Nov. 18th 1867 is one of the most extraordinary pictorial album quilts known. It depicts events and life of the Union after the Civil War.
