This is a photo of the original rug, hooked in America, late 19th/early 20th century.
There are some questions on if this is a dog or cat. It was listed at auction as a dog. I think it looks like a cat, because of the nose and ears. Any way you see it, it would be wonderful. Check out Judy Roth's version in the second image. She made it a wonderful dog!
