This is a photo of the original rug dated 1852.
A large, unusual cornucopia, in the center of the rug, sprouts large flowers, buds and wonderful leaves, all hooked in faded reds and rose with soft, sage green and khaki colored leaves and stems, outlined in dark green. The corners have pineapples hooked in gold that has faded to tan. The strappy leaves are hooked in the same sage green with dark green outlines. The inner border is a faded red, sawtooth which pairs nicely with the khaki background. The rugs outer border is made of stripes of all of the colors used in the rug.
