This is a photo of the original shirred rug, hooked circa 1830.
This photo, of the original rug, shows the center portion that inspired the "Ewe and Lambs in the Garden" pattern. It is shown, for you to see the original colors and the elephant. The elephant version is available on request. In this version a mother sheep, ewe, takes center stage, on a rug like surround. There are little lambs underneath the stalks of flowers. All are surrounded by a double stripe border.
