This block, from the Reconciliation Quilt, shows a freed slave woman carrying feed for her chickens with leaves in the corners. The original Reconciliation Quilt, by Lucinda Ward Honstain, dated Nov. 18th 1867 is one of the most extraordinary pictorial album quilts known. It depicts events and life of the Union after the Civil War. Photo: International Quilt Museum; Accession Number: 2001.11.0001
