This block, from the Reconciliation Quilt, shows a goat pulling an ice cream wagon while the peddler holds an ice cream cone under a leafy vine. The original Reconciliation Quilt, by Lucinda Ward Honstain, dated Nov. 18th 1867 is one of the most extraordinary pictorial album quilts known. It depicts events and life of the Union after the Civil War. Photo: International Quilt Museum; Accession Number: 2001.11.0001. This image was hooked by Joyce Rickenbach.
