This image was hooked by Aileen Anderson. The pattern was originally inspired by a rug hooked by John Filker, of Amherst Ohio in 1877. The original, which is the second image, is shown in American Hooked and Sewn Rugs, Folk Art Underfoot by Joel and Kate Kopp. I added a primitive cat to the center portion of the rug, for you cat lovers! I also offer it as it was originally hooked. It can be found here as Amherst Floral.
