This is a photo of the original rug, hooked circa 1900. Primitive, multicolored, scroll leaves on a striated background with dark veins and outlines. These are the easiest scrolls to hook, with primitive shading. The scrolls measure 17 inches long, on the smallest size, 43 inches long on the largest size. The larger sizes are perfect for large cuts! This pattern does not include the detailed lines for those who have their own vision of how to hook scrolls. I would love to hook one of the larger sizes with a 10 cut or hand torn strips!
