This is a photo of the original rug hooked circa 1885.
These smiling cats, with their white patches, are almost identical!
The background of primitive pastels and neutrals is perfect against the black cats. The top border has the look of a sawtoothed border, whereas the word Welcome creates the bottom border. This is at the top of my long list of rugs to hook!
