Wool Table Rug 1875 (#453)

I adapted this design from the original table rug to be a hooked rug pattern. This rug caught my eye with the striped cornucopia of flowers and fruit sprawled across the rug as I love cornucopia's in hooked rugs! The edges, on each end, have vines of flowers and leaves. The background of deep green was worked together in pieces. This could be emulated, by hooking the background in blocks of different shades. The original wool applique and embroidered table rug, was created circa 1875.
