Biography of Elinor Barrett

Missouri is a rich environment for primitive rug hooking with the resources of many talented teachers, pattern designers, dyers and the annual treat of the legendary Lenexa Hook-in. I feel so lucky to have discovered Rhonda Manley and Emma Lou Lais and to have attended my first rug hooking camps with them. Through them, I've met such talented hookers who have taught and inspired me with their beautiful hooking and friendship. I've loved hooking with the amazing Liberty-area hookers at Rhonda's wonderful studio. Locally, I have the good fortune to hook with Springfield area friends, the Woolly Hookers at the Columbia Public Library, the Warsaw hookers through Patty Wallace and Saltbox Primitive Woolens, the Rocheport Hookers through Marcia Voss at White Horse Antiques, and the Baa Baa Boonville (Blood on the Rug!) Halloween hookers.

Along with color, design, texture, wool and rugs, I'm also hooked on books! I'm a librarian by training and the Associate Director of Daniel Boone Regional Library system, the public library system serving Boone and Callaway counties where I'm responsible for the library's public services, strategic planning and building projects.

I love planning rug projects and picking out wools. I can't wait to help you with yours!
